The textile and apparel industry is a global industry, and the standards developed for this industry should also have international applicability. Standards developed or harmonized with international stakeholders can help ensure wider global acceptance – for example, GOTS. This type of international standard also helps to remove barriers to international trade rather than purely national standards. The China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and GOTS held a roundtable to discuss and examine how to remove the many barriers to the adoption of global standards in China. If China can successfully adopt global standards, it will not only avoid the double burden of domestic and international certification for Chinese textile companies, but also improve their development opportunities in the domestic market. He expressed the hope that the roundtable would lead to the establishment of an organic textile alliance involving all stakeholders present, providing expertise, financial support and influence.

The RCS Recycled Claimed Standard, which is another recycling standard launched by TE Textile Trading Organization in 2013, is used to provide a basis for certification of products using recycled raw materials.It is suitable for products with a recycled raw material content between 5% and 100%. The certification body has several institutions such as Shanghai Shiyou Certification Co., Ltd., which can be freely selected, and the certified enterprise information can be found on the website of the TE-textile trading organization.
